Arthur Ray Calton was born in Modesto, California. The second son of Frank Calton and Ruth Mathies Calton.
He was raised in Riverbank, attending Riverbank Elementary schools and Oakdale High School class of 1957. Ray was retired from the U.S. Navy and Hershey Chocolate. He was an avid fisherman and a twenty year member of the Riverbank Bass Anglers.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Betty; two sons, Steven (Terri) of Puyallup, Washington and Dennis (Cheryl) of Lodi, California; and daughter, Pam (Randy) Lacey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two brothers, Bob Calton of Riverbank and Bruce (Donna) Calton of Ceres; and sister, Phyllis (Mickey) Machado of Modesto; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and close cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21, from 4-8pm at Riverbank Memorial Chapel, 3131 Santa Fe Street, Riverbank.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, February 22, 1pm at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 East River Road, Escalon.
