A native of Santa Cruz, she moved to Santa Clara when she was 6 and lived where the campus of Santa Clara University is now located.
She returned to Santa Cruz after she married John Battistini on Jan. 2, 1938. For 37 years, Mrs. Battistini worked alongside her husband as the office manager of his firm, John Battistini Insurance in Santa Cruz. She kept the business running while her husband served in the South Pacfic during World War II.
She was known for her scrupulous attention to detail and her cheery voice.
Mrs. Battistini and her husband traveled to Italy eight times to visit family members and also visited relatives in Argentina. She was a member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Battistini of Santa Cruz; and six godchildren.
Neighborhood children and friends affectionately called her "Aunt Angie."
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Church, 126 High St., Santa Cruz. Friends may call at Norman's Family Chapel, 3620 Soquel Drive, Soquel, from noon until 5 p.m. Wednesday. Private burial will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum.
Contributions are preferred to the American Heart Association, 76 Stephanie Drive, Salinas, 93901.
