John H. Seidl, 84, formerly of 5926 Wagon Wheel Road, Manitowoc, died Friday, January 31, 1992, at Manitowoc County Health Care Center.
He was born October 17 1907, in the town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County, son of the late Michael and Anna (née Augustine) Seidl.
He married the former Mayme Olive Kohlmann on October 20, 1931, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on July 12, 1990. After their marriage the couple made their home in the town of Kossuth as owners and operators of the family's homestead farm until their retirement. The couple celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary in 1981.
He served as the town of Kossuth chairman for several years, also a member of Manitowoc County Board. Mr. Seidl was the treasurer of the Rockwood Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years, retiring from that position in 1990.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, John E. and Joan Seidl of Manitowoc, Fredric and Kathleen Seidl of Appleton, Ronald and Joan Seidl of Fond du Lac, Dennis and Myrna Seidl of Manitowoc, Aloyce and Judy Seidl of Manitowoc; a sister and brother-in-law, Anna and John Hutterer of Francis Creek; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ed and Margaret Kohlmann of Manitowoc, Victor Kohlmann of Manitowoc, Paul and Evelyn Kohlmann of Manitowoc; 21 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends survive.
He was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters; a sister-in-law and a grandson.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Presiding the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Donald Schneider with entombment to follow in Knollwood Mausoleum.
