Shirley J. Seidl, age 73, of 2206 S. 14th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born March 26, 1928, in Salem, Oregon, daughter of the late Edwin and Alberta (née Meyer) Malzahn.

On June 22, 1946, she married Curtis Seidl in Manitowoc.

Shirley worked at Heresite Protective Coatings Inc., and also at Tinsel Factory and Lapcor Plastics. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ where she was active with the Women's Guild and the Sew and Sews Group along with teaching Sunday School. She also served as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts.

Survivors include her husband, Curtis; her children: Edwin Seidl, Wauwatosa, and his children: Kristen and Craig Seidl, Donna and Dennis Fricke, Manitowoc; and their children: Dominic Fricke, Joseph (Valerie) Fricke, Jan (Rebecca) Fricke; Kevin and Carrie Seidl, Land O'Lakes, Florida; and their children: Jordan, Jessie and Serena Seidl and three great-grandchildren: Joey, Vanessa and Jamison. Also surviving is a brother, Robert (Ruth) Malzahn, Manitowoc; two brothers-in-law: Alton Seidl, Branford, Connecticut; Rolland Zoeller, Oconto; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Berdine Zoeller.

Funeral services will be held at Knollwood Mausoleum Chapel, town of Kossuth with entombment to follow.
