Michael's Obituary:

Michael William Segota of Columbus passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 28, 2010 at the age of 54.
Michael was born in Henderson, Nev., to John and Jean Segota on Jan. 31, 1956 and spent his childhood and teenage years in Las Vegas Nev., where his father worked in the hotel industry. He spent many summers during his younger years in Montana where his love for the mountains and a passion for fishing developed.
Michael graduated from Valley High School in Las Vegas, Nev., in 1974. He attended Colorado University in Boulder and later transferred to Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business. After college Michael lived in Big Sky, Red Lodge, Laurel and ultimately settled in Columbus.
Michael had various and diverse careers throughout his lifetime such as a hunting and fishing guide, insurance broker, professional Walleye fisherman, and chef. Most recently Michael was the co-owner and operator of Whitlock's Steakhouse in Columbus.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jean Segota and his brother Robert Segota. He is survived by his long term companion and business partner Janice Sattler, sister Stacey (Steve) Ziegler of Bozeman, niece and nephew, Madalyn and Zack Ziegler of Bozeman, sister in-law Susan Segota of Palatine Ill., nieces Courtney and Kelsey Segota of Palatine Ill., Aunt Afton (Babe) Johnson of Red Lodge, Uncle Ted Segota of Billings, Uncle Dan and Aunt Ginny Segota of Ennis, numerous cousins, and many friends.
A graveside memorial service and interment will be held at 2 pm Saturday Sept. 11, 2010 at the Red Lodge cemetery.
