Mooers — Raymond C. Tourville, 69, died Wednesday Aug. 29, 2001, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Chateaugay on July 22, 1932, the son of Roy and Aidwidge (Soucia) Tourville.

He was employed as a forklift operator at Diamond International in Plattsburgh for many years.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1418 of Champlain and American Legion Post 20 of Plattsburgh.

He is survived by his wife, the former Vivian Narreau Garrand of Mooers; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Christopher and Susan Tourville of Plattsburgh, Francis and Karen Tourville of Altona, Tim Tourville of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Deborah Bird of Plattsburgh, two stepsons and a daughter-in-law, Donald and Betty Garrand of South Carolina and Paul Garrand of Schenectady, two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Glenn Smith of Scotia and Lisa and Greg Hetzler of North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Carolyn Tourville of Plattsburgh, 11 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren and one great-grandson.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday from St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rouses Point.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mooers Rescue Squad.
