Christopher Allan Owen, 39, Blue Springs, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2013. Chris died at home after a short illness. He was born in Springfield, July 1, 1973, the son of Geary and Nancy (Niswonger) Owen.
In his younger years, Chris lived with his family in Springfield, New Orleans, Baltimore and Chicago. He and his family returned to Springfield in 1987 and Chris graduated from Kickapoo High School in 1991. Shortly after graduation, he moved to the Kansas City area and spent many years there as a commercial electrician. He was an avid outdoorsman, and spent many happy times, hunting, fishing, camping and kayaking with family and many friends. He enjoyed playing his guitars and riding his dirt bike with his son.
He is survived by his son Caleb, of the home, Blue Springs; his parents Geary & Nancy, Blue Springs; his brother David, sister-in-law Tiffany, and niece Autumn, all of Barnett, Mo; his maternal grandmother Mary Jane Niswonger, Blue Springs; several aunts and uncles and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his much beloved paternal grandparents, Roy Owen and Frances Gilmore.
A graveside service at Patterson Cemetery, Farm Road 186, Springfield.
