CHICKAMAUGA Doris Bolt Madaris Spruill, 96, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, in a local medical facility.Born on Jan. 26, 1917, to William Augustus Bolt and Arizona Fowler Bolt of Walker County, she was the seventh of eight daughters. Mrs. Spruill was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chickamauga, the Fidelis Class, the Tsikamagi Garden Club of Chickamauga and an avid volunteer in the Chickamauga City Schools for many years.She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Grant Madaris; daughter, Judith Madaris Egan; and husband, Thomas Spruill.She is survived by her children, Hiram Grant Madaris and wife, Judy, Susan Madaris Saul; grandchildren, Jane Lyle Madaris Edwards, Jason Grant Madaris and Ashley, Mark C. Norrell and wife, Jennifer; great-grandchild, Grant Dullea Norrell; sister, Ruth Hubbs; brother, Frank Shields Bolt; extended family, Beverly and James Ussery and many nieces and nephews.The family wishes to thank Dr. Thomas F. Mullady and the staff of Diagnostic Center, Chattanooga.Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, at Chickamauga Cemetery with the Rev.
