Volenda Bell, died in Fairfield, after an illness of less than a week. Mrs. McKee was born at Oakland, MD, She graduated from the Female Seminary at Washington, PA, and spent a number of years as a teacher. June 21 1866, she was married to Gilbert McKee,(1-7-1834). She had made Fairfield her home for sixteen years past, leaving no children, Her husband, a brother, David McCarty, and sister, Ingaba McCarty survive her. Was buried beside her parents, in the McCarty/Wheeler Cemetery.
