SHIRLEY I. WILSMANN

Shirley I. Wilsmann, age 81, of 7930 Thunder Road, Manitowoc, died Friday evening Sept. 28, 2007, at her residence.

She was born on June 16, 1926, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Stanley and Irene Simons Gunderson. Shirley graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School with the class of 1944. She then graduated from Silver Lake College with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.

On June 28, 1947, she married Gordon Stueck at Emanuel United Methodist Church in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death in 1993. On Aug. 24, 1996, she married Elmer Wilsmann at Emanuel United Methodist Church in Two Rivers.

She was the first-grade teacher at O.H. Schultz School in Mishicot for 27 years, retiring in 1990.

Shirley was a lifelong member of Emanuel United Methodist Church in Two Rivers. She was very active in the church as a member of the choir, and also as the choir director for several years. She was a member of the Cato V.F.W. Auxiliary Post. Shirley enjoyed playing cards and reading.

Shirley also was preceded in death by two brothers: Gerald and Lynn Gunderson; two sisters: Jean Torrens and Edith Ruthmansdorfer.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9 until 11 a.m. on Tuesday Oct. 2, 2007, at Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Sonia Alvarado. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum on Tuesday.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Holy Family Hospice for their care and compassion shown towards Shirley and her family.

Memorials may be made to Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers.

The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
