Milt Walters went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. He was born May 24, 1953, in Enid, Okla., the son of Eldon and Louise Walters.
He graduated from Enid High School in 1971, and from the University of Oklahoma in 1975, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. He then received his MBA from Phillips University in 1977.
He worked with his father for several years, learning all facets of the construction business while he was in Enid, Okla. He worked in the banking and financial areas while living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and upon his return to Oklahoma City.
Later, he returned to his original profession of building and was currently the building superintendent for Prestige Custom Homes. There was no challenge too great for Milt in the area of "fixing it." Armed with his great array of tools, he could always find a way to make "something work." Nothing gave him more pleasure than helping anyone that needed a favor, however great or small. He was a gun enthusiast who enjoyed the sport of shooting. His greatest love above all else was his precious family. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. His earthly presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was pre-deceased by his father and mother, Eldon and Louise Walters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susie, whom he loved more than life itself; and his beloved children: son, Justin Walters and girlfriend Lauren Grissom; daughter, Courtney Fredrickson and husband Chase, along with his grandchildren, Cael and Chyler Fredrickson; as well as Susie's daughter and husband Laura and Mark Knight with their children, Jorden and Jackson Ford and Jaycee Knight. He also is survived by his loving sister, Peggy Burris and his nieces and nephews, Kristen and Matt Brown, Kim and Ryan Meacham, and Amanda and Kyle Burris; and great-nieces and nephews, Bella and Micah Brown and Grace and Stella Meacham.
Milt's family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Service, 305 S. Sooner Road, Midwest City, Okla., from 6-8 p.m. today. Funeral service will be held at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 2717 W. Hefner Road, Oklahoma City, OK on Friday, March 22, 2013, at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Association or American Bible Society, with the funeral home acting as custodian
