Son of John Lee and Essie Trublood VanZant, lived in Marion Co. all of his life. He was a farmer and retired carpenter. He attended the Everton Methodist Church and was one of the Court House Square Whittlers. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Essie Campbell VanZant, a son, William Doy VanZant, Jr., three brothers and one sister. Survivors include four daughters, Cathy McEntire of Lufkin, TX., Patsy Phillips of Joplin, MO., Sharon Williams of Everton, AR., and Carlene Morris of Harrison, AR., two sisters, Ethel Morrison and Merle Phillips both of Everton, AR., two brothers Burl VanZant of Yakima, WA., and Kermit VanZant of Garland. TX., 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
