June's family had sheltered her from many admirers through the years, so much so, that at age 28 she married the man she loved, Sam McClune, regardless! Their wedding was in their new home at 229 Main Street. People said it was a beautiful occasion. June's maid-of-honor was Helen Quinn who later married E.I. Dupont.
June was educated in the Johnstown schools, including the high school and had graduated from Hollidaysburg Seminary in Hollidaysburg, PA.
Following Samuel's death, June took up her residence in Atlantic City, NJ, returning to Johnstown in November 1932 to preside over Attorney Percy Allen Rose's, her brother, home.
June died suddenly of a heart attack about 2:30 p.m. at her brother's home. She passed away before a physician could be summoned. Funeral services were held at the Rose residence with interment in Grandview Cemetery in the Rose Mausoleum which Samuel was also interred.
June was affiliated with the First Lutheran Church, The Johnstown Garden Club, and was active years ago in the old Amicus Club, a prominent social organization of that city.
