"Mrs. Martha L. Williams, 72, wife of the late Thomas Williams, died Thursday morning at her home at Pleasant Hill after an illness of two years' duration. Mrs. Williams was a native of this county and had lived in the Pleasant Hill community for many years. She was loved and respected by all who knew her and she leaves a multitude of friends to mourn her passing. She was a devoted member of the Pleasant Hill church where she was active in her Christian duties. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ida Doss of Somerset, Mrs. Ellen Shadoan of Fletcher, Ohio, and Mrs. Janie Hall of Pleasant Hill; two sons, Sam Rayborn and Robert Williams, both of Somerset; two sisters, Mrs. Nannie Barnes of Somerset and Mrs. Lula Bernard of Cincinnati. Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at the home, the Rev. W.W. McAlpin officiating. Burial was in the city cemetery."
