Local Matron Dies at Hospital
Mrs. J.L. (Liza) Abercrombie, 76, died at a local hospital Sunday following a lingering illness. She was born Jan. 19, 1877 at Richfield, Utah, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leaverriett Van Lewven, early Utah pioneers. She was married to Will Butterfield, who proceded her in death. Survivors of the marriage are two sons, Ray Butterfield of Edmond, Wash., and Henry Butterfield, Missoula, Mont. A son, Vernon Butterfield, died during World War I. Later in life she was married to J.L. Abercrombie, who survives her and lives at [address deleted]. Other survivors are [children, names deleted]; 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and two sisters. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a daughter, Martha Abercrombie. She was a gold star member of the War Mothers. Funeral services are pending arrival of relatives and will be announced later. Friends may call at the Wood Funeral Home.
