DELMAR H. WEHAUSEN

Delmar H. Wehausen, age 73, of 4211 Ray St. Manitowoc, died unexpectedly, Friday, April 23, 2004 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Revs. Robert Kujawski and Stephen Melso will officiate with entombment at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc.

Delmar was born Dec. 5, 1930, in Manitowoc County, son of the late Louis and Hildergarde Schreiber Wehausen. Del was a 1948 graduate of Valders High School. He was a United States Army Veteran serving from Oct. 25, 1954 until Oct. 25, 1957.

On Aug. 31, 1963 Del was married to the former Janice E. Boeder at St. John United Church of Christ in Manitowoc. The couple lived in Menomonee Falls, Wis. from 1963 until moving back to Manitowoc in 1994. Janice preceded Del in death on Jan. 25, 1998.

Delmar was employed by Silgan Container in Menomonee Falls for 26 years retiring on Dec. 31, 1992. He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a volunteer for Holy Family Memorial Adult Day Care Center.

Survivors include one son; Timothy Wehausen of Fairfax, Va; one daughter and son-in-law; Tina and Don Guarisco of Sussex, Wis.; one brother and sister-in-law; Frederick and Janice Wehausen of Manitowoc; one sister: Ruth Bathke of Appleton; four brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Verlin Christianson of Valders; Pete Schmidt of Watertown; Robert Boeder of Manitowoc; Lois and Charles Hanley of Standish, Mich.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive.

He was preceded in death by three sisters: Joan Schmidt; Lois Christianson; Helen Wehausen; and one brother-in-law: Lester Bathke.
