Dorothy J. Scarlato

Allegany, NY-- Dorothy J. Scarlato, formerly of 102 Clarence St. died Sunday (November 24, 2002) at her residence in the Lutheran Retirement Home in Jamestown, NY.

Born November 28, 1907 in Olean she was the daughter of Dennis and Margaret McAuliffe Keating. On November 26, 1936 in Olean she married Michael J. Scarlato who predeceased her on June 6, 1983.

Mrs. Scarlato attended St. Mary's Parochial School in Olean and was a graduate of Westbrook Commercial Academy. She was a resident of Allegany most of her life and was a member of St. Bonaventure Church.

Surviving are 2 daughters JoAnn (Thomas) Flynn of Syracuse and Mickey (Michael) Brown of Jamestown; 4 grandsons; 1 sister Rita Bishop of Olean and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 5 sisters Margaret Foley, Magdalene Rohrig, Marie Cornell, Betty Libby and infant Catherine Keating and two brothers Dennis Keating and John Keating.

There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday (November 29, 2002) at 10:00am in St. Bonaventure Church, Allegany. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Father Bill Brown Mission C/O Immaculate Conception Church 6 Maple Avenue Wellsville, NY 14895.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
