Lillian R. Wettstein, age 89, of W4558 Hickory Hills Rd. Stockbridge, died on Wed. Sept. 20, 2006 at the Willowdale Nursing Home in New Holstein.
She was born on Aug. 31, 1917 in the Town of Stockbridge, daughter of the late John & Mary (Schneider) Hoerth.
She married Rudolph A. Wettstein on Oct. 27, 1945 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Kloten. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2004.
Lillian attended St. Elizabeth School in Kloten, St. Mary Springs High School in Fond du Lac and graduated from Chilton High School. She had farmed with her husband in the Town of Stockbridge and was a beautician in the Fond du Lac area. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge and a member of the Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her three children; Susan (Ronald) Steiner of Stockbridge, Alice (Kevin) Coggins of North Carolina, Thomas Wettstein of Stockbridge; a grandchild, Melanie (Rick) Krause of Greenville; two great grandchildren, Matthew & MaKenna Krause. Three sisters: Lorena Meyers of New Holstein, Irene Dickrell of New Holstein, Verena Sanderson of Guthrie, OK; a brother, Art (Jean) Hoerth of Chilton.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Leona Hanke & four brothers: Al, William, Edmund & Anthony.
Funeral services will be at 10AM on Sat. Sept 23, 2006 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge, with the Rev. Celestine Byekwaso officiating. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum. Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) Chilton from 4PM to 8PM on Friday and on Saturday from 8:30AM to 9:30AM when family prayers will be held. A parish prayer service will be held on Friday evening at the funeral home. A Memorial Fund has been established in the name of Lillian Wettstein.
