FORMER EDUCATOR, NEW WINDSOR FARM OWNER, DIES HERE

Clyde Bestor Coleman, 57, former college professor who had returned to farming in Mercer county 14 years ago, died at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon in Galesburg Cottage hospital, where he had been a pneumonia patient for two weeks.

His death occurred on the 22nd anniversary of his second marriage, his first wife having preceded him in death. The widow and one son by each marriage survive him.

Mr. Coleman's return in 1926 to operate the farm on which he had spent his childhood followed some years spent in other pursuits - agriculture instructor at the University of Illinois, the same work on the faculty of Rhode Island state college, and association with the American Agricultural Chemical company of Boston, Mass. He was a member of Sigma Phi, honorary science fraternity. At the time of his death he was an elder of the New Windsor Presbyterian church and secretary of the New Windsor High school board.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the New Windsor Presbyterian church. The Rev. L.J. Sailor of Rantoul will officiate, assisted by the local pastor, the Rev. Duff Tucker. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be in the New Windsor cemetery.
