Gerald O. Tenney, 84, of French Creek died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at his home. He was born March 15, 1921, in Upshur County, a son of the late Henry Walter and Mary Adaline Winemiller Tenney. He was united in marriage on Aug. 7, 1943 to Irene Russell Tenney, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters: Deloris Hyre and husband Maurice of French Creek and Greta Goodwin and husband Johnie of Amherst, Ohio; son Duane Tenney and wife Delores of Painesville, Ohio; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also several nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Mr. Tenney was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, where he had served as a lay leader. Friends were received on Saturday, May 7 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral service was held 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 8 at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Conrad Tenney officiating. The burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. The Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
