Ben "Arthur" Rudolph was born on June 4, 1882 in the Rudolphtown community of Montgomery County, Tennessee, the son of Charles Thomas Rudolph (1835–1920) and Francis Geraldine "Fannie" (Rudolph) Rudolph (1842–1923).

He married Mary Lynn Clinard (1892–1980) on September 29, 1921 in Davidson County, Tennessee, the daughter of Jefferson Davis Clinard (1861–1942) and Emma (Benton) Clinard (1862–1935). And, according to his Death Certificate, he was divorced at the time of his death.

Arthur was in the tobacco business for many years, and he and his brother Kendrick were part of the firm J W Rudolph & Brothers. He was also a member of the Presbyterian church.

He was 66 years old when he died on December 15, 1948 in Clarksville Hospital after being ill for several years.

Survivors included son Robert Herbert Rudolph in Nashville, brother Kendrick Rudolph of Clarksville, and sister Miss Mamie Rudolph at Clarksville. {Son Robert Herbert Rudolph was born on November 27, 1928 in Saint Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida, and died on June 5, 2001 in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama, but his place of burial has not be located.}

Funeral Services were held on December 16th at McReynolds Chapel, and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville.
