Born in Norway, Mr. Christensen had lived in Westfield 40 years. Prior to that he resided in Richmond Hill, S.I., for a number of years.
He retired six years ago as a builder, having learned his trade in Norway. He was one of the first builders to start Westfield Gardens and was also active in the Wychwood section of Westfield as a builder.
He was a member of the Woodaide Chapel, Fanwood, and the Christian Business Men's Committee of Plainfield.
Surviving ore his widow, Esther M.; two daughters, Mrs. Clara C. Zimmerli of Stony Brook, L.I., and Mrs. Esther M. Brooks of Manila, P.I.; three sons, Edwin P. of Lima, Peru, Carl P. of Cranford and Paul J., at home; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Gray's. Dr. John D. Gill of Woodside Chapel, Fanwood officiated. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
