DUNCAN: Mrs. Eleanor Norah Duncan passed away in the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre on October 13,2008 at the age of 83 years.

Eleanor was born in Quebec City, Quebec on March 4, 1925 and shortly thereafter moved to a farm near Lethbridge, Alberta with her parents and siblings. Her fondest memories were of life on the farm. As a young girl, she was an avid dancer, horse enthusiast and 4H member.

Eleanor married James S. Duncan and later moved to Coleman, Alberta in 1955 with their ever expanding and deeply loved family. She resided in this wonderful community until her death.

While in Lethbridge, Eleanor was employed by the Royal Bank of Canada. While in the Crowsnest Pass, she worked for Canada Post in Coleman; her final workplace, prior to retirement in 1990, was at the Municipal Town Office of the Crowsnest Pass as a Utilities Clerk.

She was very community minded and active in the Royal Canadian Legion, the Royal Purple, and served on the school board for a number of terms.

She will be remembered by young and old in the Crowsnest Pass for her piano playing and accompaniment at numerous events, constantly volunteering her time and services. Though always ready to help someone else, her children and grandchildren were her most cherished treasures.

Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, Gladys and Walter; brothers, Roy and Leslie and sister, Rhoda.

Eleanor is survived by her daughters, & her sons and their families
