LINCOLN -- Mary Elizabeth Noecker-Clark, 94, formerly of Berryville, Ark., and Lovington, died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at 6 a.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
A graveside service at Hewitt Cemetery, Lovington, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Victor Ramsey II will officiate.
Mrs. Noecker-Clark had been a cashier-bookkeeper at the Lovington office of Central Illinois Public Service Company. She also taught one year at "Crackerneck" School near Lovington and eight years in the English department at Lovington Junior High School
She was born July 22, 1910, in Decatur to Paul D. and Mary Ethel Dudley Cooper. She married Clark E. Noecker in 1941. He died in 1963. She married Horace Clark in 1969 and he died in 1974.
She is survived by two nephews, Bob Cooper and Ray Cooper, both of Lincoln, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by one brother, Dudley P. Cooper.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Berryville, Ark.; 19th District Past Presidents Club, Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs; honorary lifetime member of the Lovington Women's Club; vice president and director of the Central Region, Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs; and vice president, Decatur District, Women's Society of Christian Service, United Methodist Church. For many years, she was active in county home extension work in Illinois and Arkansas. She held membership in NRTA-AARP and was a member of the historical and genealogical societies of Carroll County, Ark., and Piatt County and Moultrie County in Illinois. Registered in RSVP, she served on the advisory council of Carroll, Madison and Benton counties. From 1980 to 1984 she served on the consumer board of Phillips Food Centers of Arkansas. She was one of the organizers of the Northwest Cattlemen's Association.
After retiring from beef cattle and grain operations in Arkansas and Missouri, she traveled extensively and gave lectures on her travels to Egypt and China. She played honky-tonk piano for schools, nursing homes and organizations. At Maple Ridge she also entertained the other residents with the piano playing she loved.
She attended Illinois State University in Normal and the Indiana State Teacher's College in Terre Haute, Ind.
