Roseland - Lynwood Harry Good "Lyn", 85, of Roseland, died Monday, March 25, 2013 at his residence. Born in Rileyville, May 24, 1927, he was a son of the late Elon Harry Good and Thelma May Cullers Good. In earlier years, he had been a teacher and principal for Norfolk City Schools. Lyn was a much loved and active member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Lions Club and was a US Navy WWII veteran. It was his love for the mountains that brought him and his wife, Ginny, to Roseland.
He is survived by his sister, Christine Shaffer of Hagerstown, MD; nieces and nephews, Kent Shaffer of Rockville, MD, Kirk Good (Elaine) of Williamsburg, Anne Good of Stuarts Draft and Lynda Good (Rusty Epps) of Williamsburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Virginia Dixon Good, and his brother, Earl Jennings Good.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church by Rev. Edwin Childress. Burial will follow in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home (434-277-5194).
