WORLD WAR II
Donald M. Young, 89 of Onondaga Hill, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday. He was born May 23, 1923, in Walpole, MA, to the late Harold and Alice Young. He was a graduate of Foxboro High School in MA, Tilton Prep School and the University of New Hampshire. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in WWII in the European Theater. He worked for Agway for 40 years, retiring in 1988 as Senior Buyer. He was a communicant of St. Michaels Church, Onondaga Hill. He was a longtime member of the Herder Spring Hunting Club where he spent many happy hours with numerous friends.
Don enjoyed hunting, golf, playing bridge, traveling, gardening, and bird watching and most especially time with his family, children and grandchildren.
Don was predeceased by his sister Marjorie (Tom) Lee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Annette (O'Neill) Young; five children, Thomas (Marianne), Donald (Cindy), James, Maribeth (Stephen) Wood, and Robert (Sara). Beloved Papa to 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, February 18 in St. Michaels Catholic Church, Onondaga Hill. A private burial will be in Osceola Mills, PA. There are no calling hours.
