Rhoda was a daughter of the late William and Mary Payne Barnhart. Rhoda married Ivan Gillispie in 1933 in Cabell County, WV and later married Andrew Oldaker.

Rhoda and Ivan had two daughters, Anna June and Nettie Bell, and one son, Ivan Jr.. After her divorce from Ivan, she had Jackie and Larry. She and Andy had two daughters, Patricia and Virginia.

Survivors included two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Massie of Athalia, Ohio, and Mrs. Zetta Dean of Lesage; two brothers William Barnhart of Pomeroy, Ohio, and John Barnhart; 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
