HOWARD ANDREWS ACCIDENTALLY KILLED BY BEING SHOT IN HEAD AT SOUTH GRANBY YESTERDAY--AFTER A RABBIT IN BRUSH PILE
Fulton Oct 22- Howard Andrews, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Andrews of No. 156 West Fourth Street, was instantly killed by the discharge of his shotgun while hunting yesterday. The accident occurred just before noon at Elmer Fisher's wood near the Steward Road in South Granby about four miles southwest of Fulton. Young Andrews and Charles Bassett, son of F. Bassett, were hunting rabbits. The boys had followed a rabbit into some brush. Andrews placed his gun, a double-barreled hammer gun, against the butt of a chestnut tree. He pushed aside the brush to scare the animal and the gun slipped from position. As it fell it went off, the charge striking Andrews in the right side of the head and killing him instantly. Bassett was within a few feet of Andrews at the time.
