Norman Ray was the son of Elmer Francis and Rosalie Ann (Ridenour) Schawo. He was a graduate of Kismet High School Class of 1961.
Norman married 1) Sara Maree Villines on Oct 6, 1962 in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas; they had 3 children: Jack Robin "Robbie", Derrick Keith and Nichole LeAnn "Nikki". On Nov 22, 1972 he married 2) Eva Elaine Fountaine-Morris in Las Vega, Clark County, Nevada; they had 3 children: Stephen Ray (dec'd), Stephenie Rae and Elisabeth Renee "Libby". He married 3) Bobby Lou Gunn on Dec 28, 1996 in Shawnee, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma; no children.
After high school Norman joined the United States Air Force (1962) where he served as a radar and communications technician. He served two tours in VietNam and also served in Spain, Thailand, England and Italy as well as several stations in the United States. He was extremely proud that he was able to serve his country; he retired at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida after over 27 years of service. After returning to southwest Kansas he worked for T & L Irrigation, Trailmobile, Halliburton and Stoppels.
Norman enjoyed tinkering with computers, especially the Commodore. He was an avid genealogist, tracing the Schawo family tree back to relatives in Germany and Austria.
He was a loving son, devoted husband and beloved father and a good friend to many.
