Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 20 at Barkley Funeral Home in Greenup. Burial was in the Yale Cemetery in Yale. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born October 27, 1917 in Yale, the daughter of Arthur and Pansy (Neal) Kirby. She married Roy Coon on July 25, 1936 and he survives.
Other survivors include a son Edwin Coon of Hebron, Ind.; three daughters, Norma Jean Cummings of Hidalgo, Rosemary Salyers of Newton and Dolores Eaton of St., Charles, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Mrs. Coon was a homemaker.
