"William J. Adams, son of John W. Adams and Elmira Chamberlain, was born on a farm near Monroe, Iowa, and died at the University hospital in Iowa City, on July 15, 1958. November 25, 1896, he was united in marriage to Nancy DeMoss and to this union seven children were born. He is survived by his wife and children: Mrs. Beona Edwards of Fort Dodge; Dewey; Mrs. Marjorie VerSteeg, Mrs. Dora Wilfong, Mrs. Fern Camden, Mrs. Flo Pyle, all of Knoxville, Iowa; Mrs. Bessie Miller of Davenport; 29 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Lillie Decker, of Des Moines, Iowa."
