Mrs Mary A Wade, the widow of Col John J Wade, a Confederate soldier and formerly of the Baltimore bar, died yesterday morning of Bright's disease at the home of her son, Dr J Percy Wade, superintendent of the Maryland Hospital for the Insane, near Catonsville, with whom she had resided for a number of years.

Mrs Wade was 72 years old and was born at Union, Monroe county, W Va. She was the daughter of Gen A A Chapman, of Monroe county, who represented his district in Congress for several terms previous to the Civil War and who was at that time a leading Democrat. Her mother was Mary Bierne of the same county. Mrs Wade was married to Col Wade in Virginia in 1852. Her husband was colonel of the Fifty-fourth Virginia Regiment, Confederate States Army, and served throughout the war.

Mrs Wade leaves four sons - Dr J Percy Wade; Messrs George B Wade, of Carroll county; William A Wade of the Baltimore bar, and Walter S Wade, of Philadelphia.
