Marie was born on March 25, 1906, in South Bend, to Frank and Isabell (Ludwiczak) Kalicki, and was a lifelong resident. On November 8, 1927, in St. Stanislaus Church, as Marie Kalicki, she married Stanley Hes, who preceded her in death on June 18, 1987. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Leonard and Joseph Kalicki. Survivors include her niece, Barbara (Jerry) Badur of South Bend, Indiana; her nephew, Kenneth (Esther) Kalicki of South Bend, Indiana; great-nieces and great-nephews, Dennis (Michele) Badur, Randy (LeAnn) Kalicki, Robin (Donny) Mullins, Daniel Badur and Deborah Ulch; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Samantha McClanahan, Kara Badur, Kasie Badur, Kelden Badur, Sarah (Mike) Bayless, Stephanie Howe, Randi Kalicki and Bobby Kalicki; and nine great-great-great-nieces and nephews. A private Mass.
Marie was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish and the St. Joseph Society Group 65.
She enjoyed cooking and made the best chocolate chip cookies. She also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and gardening. The family would like to thank the staff at Healthwin Specialized Care Facility for all of their loving care of Marie.
