George M. Matthews, of 570 Lincoln street, died at his home at 11:30 o'clock last evening. He had been ailing for the past year, but was stricken Tuesday morning when he took to his bed. He was born in London, England. He was a bricklayer and stone mason by trade and was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal church. Surviving him are his widow and two sons, Daniel of Allentown, and Harry at home. Also two brothers and two sisters, Catherine Matthews, of Wellesley, Mass.; Mrs. Emily Will, of Easton; Charles Matthews, of Elizabeth, N.J., and Thomas Matthews, of this city. Also one grandchild.
