Elden Perry "Barney" Saylor, 86, of New Vienna, died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton.

He was born May 14, 1926 in Centerville, the son of the late Perry Alfred and Lillian Edna Taylor Aldredge Saylor.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.

During his time in the Navy during World War II, he served in the Pacific Theatre, European African Theatre, and the Asiatic Pacific.

He was a member of the New Vienna Church of Christ, Dalton Lodge #578 Free and Accepted Masons, and Hillsboro V.F.W. Post #9094.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, to whom he was married Aug. 23, 1963 in Centerville; step-son, of St. James City, Fla.; two sons; two daughters; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; brother, of Centerville; sister, of Columbus; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of Jimmie, Daniel, and Darrell, Clara Vashti Dennis Saylor in January 1963; and his step-father Clarence Kuch.

Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, March 30 beginning with Masonic Services at the New Vienna Church of Christ. Dalton Lodge #578 will provide Masonic Services.

Burial with Military Honors accorded by the Highland County Honor Guard will follow in the New Vienna I.O.O.F Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. at the church.

Memorial are directed to the New Vienna Church of Christ, Handicap Door Fund, P.O. Box 242, New Vienna, Ohio 45159.

The Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro is serving the family.
