PAMPA - William Arthur Rankin, 92, died Tuesday, April 15, 1997.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with Dr. R.L. Kirk, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Rankin was born in Monticello, Ky. He was a 1926 graduate of Pampa High School. He married Mary Nell Burns in 1932 at Miami. She died in 1992.
He worked at Miami State Bank from 1926 to 1933 and for Phillips Petroleum from 1933 to 1936. He moved to Pampa from the Phillips Camp and worked for Fraser Insurance from 1936 to 1948. He was a real estate agent from 1948 until retiring.
He was a member of the Miami Masonic Lodge No. 805 and Pampa Chapter No. 98 of the Order of the Eastern Star. He also was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Men's Fellowship Class. He was a longtime member of the Pampa Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Lawley of Houston; a brother, John Rankin of Pampa; a grandchild; and a greatgrandchild.
The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church or the Pampa Senior Citizens Center.
