Sally Marie Longmire, age 80, a resident of the Dyllis Community in Roane County, died Monday, March 15, 2010 at Roane Medical Center in Harriman.

Mrs. Longmire was born July 31, 1929 in the Wheat Community of Roane County. She has continued to live in this area.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Elverton Primitive Baptist Church.

Her hobbies included gardening, canning, quilting and taking care of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Franklin Gann and Ethel Goldston Gilmore Gann, by her husband, Edgar Longmire, and by two brothers; Arville Gann and James Cordell Gann.

She is survived by a son William Coy Gann and his wife, Bonnie of Harriman, by grandsons, Cody and Cary Gann, by brothers; Ray B. Gann and wife Mary of Houston, TX, and John Gann of Harriman, by Bill Aslinger a very special friend, and several extended family members.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 18, 2010 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 pm at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Roger Buck and Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Friday, March 19, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Elverton Cemetery. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
