Laura was survived by her husband of 32 years, Gilbert Paul Abeyta; son Denny Abeyta; daughter Sandra Abeyta and son-in-law Robert; grandson Dominic Martinez, all of Chamisal; and step-grandson Vicente Martinez of Española; siblings: Olivama Pacheco, Felix Córdova, Ross Córdova, Joe Córdova (Vicky), Rosana Abeyta (Juan), all of Chamisal; Linora Pacheco of Santa Fe, Maclovia Fresquez (Anselmo) of Las Vegas, Nevada and Dina Durán (Robert) of Talpa; and many other relatives.
Rosaries were recited on 10 May 2005 at Rivera Chapel and on 11 May 2005 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco. Funeral Mass was on 12 May 2005 at San Antonio de Padua Church. Interment was in the Chamisal Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Vicente Martinez, Joshua Curry, Janice Durán, John Abeyta Jr., Chris Fujino, and Mike Fujino. Honorary pallbearer was Dominic Martinez.
