Samuel Franklin (Frankie) Helmer was born March 23,1933 in Kansas City, Missouri to Avery J. and Ethel Mae Helmer.

His Parents moved their family to Eldridge, Missouri and he attended school there after graduation he served in the Army.

On January 2,1951 he was united in marriage to LaVerne Waters, and together they lovingly shared the last sixty two years.

He retired from TWA and was a 50-year member of the Blue Lodge and a Shriner.

He attended Eagle Heights Baptist Church in Kansas City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sister's Juanita Ray and Joan Bench, and a half brother Leroy Blaine.

He is survived by his wife, Laverne Helmer, two daughters, Helen Swanson and her husband Greg of Odenton, Md. and Wanda Wadman and her husband Eric of Lenexa, Kansas, four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
