Ramon Albert Joseph Cataldi, 80, of Harrisburg, died Monday, April 1, 2013. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Anna Jeanette (Sigafoose) Cataldi.

Born May 20, 1932, he was a first generation Italian-American, born to the late Vittorio and Mary Catherine (Cappa) Cataldi. Mr. Cataldi served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and in the 193rd unit of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard until his retirement. He also worked as a letter carrier for the US postal service until his retirement.

Ramon was very involved as a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. He was involved in the food pantry, history and records committee, and he was at the Church day and night, tirelessly helping in each and every project. His greatest love was serving God and being with his Calvary Church family, as well as with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time at Mount Gretna with his family, and he was an avid reader and unofficial member of the ladies' reading club.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda (Hile) Dominguez; brothers, Francis and Victor Cataldi; and sister, Mary Goodwin. Ramon is survived by his daughters, Martha Speck (Ernest) and Ramona Cataldi; son, Bud Hile (Christy); grandchildren, Teresa, Nick, Jessica, Jeremy and Analaura; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He also had two "adopted" children through the International Children's Fund, and he took great care and pride in sending them letters, presents and monetary help so their lives would be enriched.

A memorial service will be held, Sunday, April 7, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church, 4700 Locust Lane, Harrisburg, PA. Visitation will occur at 1:00 p.m. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served in the Church's social hall. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 8, 2013, 10:00 A.M. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.
