Francis Bernard Bauer
October 21, 1929 - April 2, 2013

Francis (Frannie) Bernard Bauer, 83 of North Sioux City South Dakota formally of Pierson, and Sioux City, Iowa joined his Lord and Savior on Tuesday April 2, 2013. After a courageous 7 month battle with lung cancer he passed away at home surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 Saturday April 6, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Craig Collison officiating.
Visitation will be Friday April 5, 2013 from 4 till 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 till 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. all at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Frannie was born October 21, 1929 in Sioux City to Jacob and Permelia (Adam) Bauer.
He married Ethel L. Johnson May 19, 1952 in Sioux City. She survives
Frannie attended both Cathedral and St. Boniface grade school and attended Trinity High in Sioux City. He received his GED in 1974.
Fran was a cook in the Army during the Korean conflict receiving an honorable discharge. Fran worked for his father at JB Bauer and Sons Grocers. He also worked for Smith Pack, Audino Construction and retired from MidAmerican Energy.
Fran was a friend of Bill W for the last 40 years. He enjoyed golf, fishing and driving especially to the Pierson post office. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Ethel; sons; Chris Bauer, Larry (Dee) Bauer, Mark (Connie) Bauer, Kenneth (Kim) Bauer, Gary Leroy Bauer, Todd (Penny) Bauer, Bill (Sam) Bauer, and daughters: Mary Bauer, and Regina Bauer his 35 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. His sister Odelia "Dee" Havorka (Vince) numerous nephews and nieces of which there are too many to count.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Chuck, Al, Laurence, Jim, Ray, Kenny: sister Eillen Burns; daughter Beatrice Bauer and granddaughter Wendy Bauer.
Frannie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and an all around nice guy that everyone knew and loved. He played hard and he worked harder. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
