Genevia Ann was born in Llano, Texas, to Troy Hershel and Dorothy Elizabet Williams Weldon. She was raised in and around the Llano and San Antonio areas and was educated in the Llano school systems. Her family moved to Sonora, Texas, where she met William Smith in 1986. They fell in love and married on July 23, 1987, in Monohans, Texas. Genevia never met a stranger or a person she could not talk to. She enjoyed taking care of people and animals. Her favorite thing was when she was an EMT with the North Bosque Volunteer EMS. Whether it was in the day or the middle of the night, Genevia showed her genuine care and concern for all of her patients, making sure they were getting the best medical attention possible. One of Genevia's greatest pleasures was going camping and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She cherished them all to no end, and this included her little pets.
She was preceded in death by a son, William "Billy" Smith, Jr.; her father, Troy Weldon; her mother, Dorothy Ellis; and a brother, Billy Jean Ellis.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, William, of Meridian; children, Michael Smith, Chris Watson, Melissa Meyers, Rebecca Green, and Anthony Smith; five grandchildren; sisters, Geraldine Weldon, Bobby Jean Halliday, and Debra Jane Raines; brothers, Carloiss Ellis, and Jimmy Weldon; and other relatives.
