Samuel Uriah Eck died at Topton yesterday after an illness of six weeks of cancer of the stomach, aged 59 years. Deceased was born in Longswamp township, March 1, 1855, and was a son of the late Jacob Eck and his wife (nee Eck). He was married May 28, 1881, to Susan Arndt, who survives, with the following children: Mrs. Thomas Moyer and Minnie, of Allentown, and Mrs. August Sarg, of Wilkes-Barre. Two step-daughters, Mrs. Howard Brensinger and Mrs. George Weil, both of Allentown, and three grandchildren also remain. There survive these brothers and sisters, Jonas and Mrs. Ephraim Stecy, of Topton; James, of Shamrock; Frank, of Hancock; Mathias, of Pottstown; Mrs. Mary Diehl, of Allentown, and Mrs. Wm. Long, of Reading. Mr. Eck was a section hand for the Reading Railway 39 years.
