DEATH OF MRS. J. M. FREEMAN
Sally Baker Freeman was born in Virginia Dec. 15, 1838 and in 1857 was married to J. W. Freeman, to his union was born nine children. In 1886 they came to Idaho and located at Meadows and in 1906 she came to White Bird and lived here until her death which came Saturday, May 12th after an illness of some time. She was very patient during her last suffering. She was loved by everyone and was a member of the Christian church.
The funeral services were held at the house Saturday and conducted by Rev. J. S. Anderson. Mrs. Geo. Marshall sang “The Holy City” by a request from Mrs. Freeman. The choir sang “Nearer My God to Thee” and “We Shall Gather at the River.” There was an abundance of beautiful flowers, the “Mother” was made of flowers and placed on the side of the casket.
She was taken to Meadows for burial, the funeral procession leaving here Sunday morning. She is survived by eight children all of whom were present at her death, Will M. Freeman, Meadows; Mrs. Emma Clark, Meadows; Mrs. Florence Brown, White Bird; Arthur Freeman, Emmett, Idaho; Robert Freeman, Meadows; Esten Freeman, Meadows; Surry Freeman, White Bird; and, Mrs. Mary B. Meyers of this place. Mrs. Freeman had made her home with Mrs. Meyers for the past nine years.
The family have the heartfelt sympathy of the community in their trouble.
