Matthew T. Trybala, age 83, of Niagara Falls, NY entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Millard Fillmore Hospital. Born May 1, 1928 in Niagara Falls NY, he was the son of the late Mary (Kazmierski) and John Trybala Sr. Matthew was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. He attended local schools and was a graduate of the former Trott Vocational High School. On October 12, 1957 he married the former Dolores Kwarciak at St. Teresa's R.C. Church. They enjoyed traveling together until her death in 1994. Matthew proudly served his country in the Korean War as a rifleman with the 35th. Infantry regiment of the 25th. Division from 1950-1952.He was wounded in action on October 1, 1951 and was later awarded the Purple Heart. He was also awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, U.S. Army Presidential Unit Citation, Korean Presidential Unit Citation Commemorative Medal, Korean Service Medal W/ 2 Bronze Stars, United Nations Medal, United Nations Medal Republic of Korea War Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Service Commemorative Medal, 50th Anniversary Korean Defense Commemorative Medal. He worked for the Niagara Falls Fire Department from 1963 until his retirement in 1990. Matthew enjoyed spending much of his time attending his grandchildren's softball and hockey games and was an avid NY Yankees fan. He also enjoyed woodworking and had a knack for being able to repair just about "anything".

He is survived by his daughter MaryKathryn (Kenneth) Browning, granddaughter Erica and grandson Matthew of Lewiston. A sister, Jennie Penale of Niagara Falls, and dear friend and companion Laura Costanzo of Lewiston. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Casimer, John, Edward, and Henry Trybala and sisters Mary Rowan and Wanda Winchester.
