Evelyn "Toots" Blackburn, 85, passed away April 3, 2013, at Crest Nursing Home.

She was born May 12, 1927, in Butte to Michael and Anastasia Brennan. She went to St John's Elementary School, graduated from Butte High, and then raised her family in Butte.

During World War II, she worked in the Seattle shipyards doing her part for the war effort.

She married Homer Blackburn on June 11, 1970, in Dillon. She spent most of her good times with Homer at Jack and Darlene Grinolds' cabin on Moose Creek but could often be found in the Wise River Club and Hersh and Jean's Bar in Wise River, enjoying a libation or two. However, her greatest joy was raising her children and seeing them grow and raise their own families.

She worked at Luigi's as a bartender and could often be found singing late into the evening.

Toots and her husband, Homer (who left this earth earlier) traveled extensively during their time together as snowbirds and then settled down again back in Butte.

In her time, Toots was an avid bowler and was a 1996-1997 WIBC local team champion member.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Anastasia; father, Michael Brennan; her brothers, Danny, Jim, Frank, Tom, and Joe; and grandson, Jason Ryan.

She is survived by her children, Danni and Rick Ryan, Dallas and Karen Cox, and Dion and Laura Cox; her sister-in-law, Leona Brennan; niece, Joan Brennan; grandchildren, James and Cheryl Ryan, Theodore and Diana Ryan, Jeremy Cox, Tara and Steve Roberts, Travers and Tiffany Cox, and Tawnya and Joe Brancamp; and great-grandchildren, Jason Ryan, Alexander Ryan, Caitlyn Ryan, K. Hunter Ryan, Katelynn Stahl, Melissa Shea , Matthew Shea, Caylor Cox, Caydann Cox, Derrick Brancamp, Malea Brancamp, Kegan Brancamp, and Michael Roberts.

We would like to thank the entire Grinolds family (Judy, Sandy, John and Derinda, Dale and Mary Carroll, Patty, and Dan) who cared for our mother as if she was their own. We would also like to thank Letha, Ned and Sue Miller, Wilma Shorten, and Jay for being such good friends throughout the years.

Per her request, there will be no services and her cremation has taken place.

Memorials should be sent to your favorite charity.
