DR. EGAN DEAD

Was Chief Surgeon of Confederate Hospitals.

Shreveport, La., December 15. - Dr. J. C. Eagan, 89 years of age, who was with Stonewall Jackson in the early days of the war between the states and during the last two years of that struggle chief surgeon in charge of the confederate military hospitals, died early today at Mount Lebanon, La. He was a native of Virginia and was wide-ly known in the medical profession throught the south.
