George was born and raised in Davidson County and was a graduate of the University of Tennessse - Knoxville. He was a farmer, proprietor of a drilling company, and was active in many civic and government organizations.

On 23 Mar 1942 he married June W. Hummer in Franklin, KY; they were the parents of one son, George, and one daughter, Camille.

ANDERSON, George Kermit (G.K.) — Age 85 of Cedar Hill, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at his home. Born February 25, 1920 in Davidson County to the late George Edward and Charlotte Jenkins Anderson. Mr. Anderson was the retired owner of G.K. Anderson Drilling company and from farming. He was a member of the Robertson County Commission for over 30 years, past member of Cumberland Electric Board of Directors, past member of Robertson County Law Enforcement Committee, past member of Robertson-Cheatham Farmers Co-op Board of Directors, past Board member of Cattle Fax, past President of Tennessee Fox Hunter's Association. Mr.Anderson was a member of Cedar Hill Church of Christ, where he had served as Elder for the past 50 years.

Preceded in death by his wife, June Wilson Hummer Anderson; brother, Clive Anderson; sister, Edith Perry.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, George II and Vickie Anderson of Cedar Hill; daughter, Camille Anderson of Tampa, FL; sisters, Iris Kronk and Katherine Dunn, both of Nashville; grandchildren, Vicky Lynn (Steven) Martin, George Edward (Tracie) Anderson, Amiee Hodge (Les) Cope, Cody Moss, Wesley (Christina) Moss; 6 great-grandchildren

His remains rest at the Robertson County Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m., with Bro. Jeff Pennick, Howard Bradley and Bill Holt officiating.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Richards, Haywood Wilson, Tony Ellis, Jerry Winters, Jerry Primm, Robert Parchman, Donnie Bowen, Omer Gene Brooksher.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the men of Cedar Hill and Adams Churches of Christ, Rex Kimbro, Royce Adkins, Floyd Pope Hancock, Dorris Head and Hughes Head.

Interment will be in Bellwood Cemetery in Adams.

The family request contributions be made to the Jo Byrns Baseball Field. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home, 2201 Memorial Blvd., Springfield, TN 37172.
