Ernest "Ernie" Alfred Platt 1/23/1920 ~ 3/18/2006 Ernest Alfred Platt, husband, father, grandpa, and "Uncle Ernie," age 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 18, 2006 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born January 23, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William and Hannah May MacFarlane Platt. Ernie graduated from South High School and then served in the Army Air Corp during World War II in Labrador, Cana-da. He married Edith Dorothy Krause April 28, 1943. Ernie worked for many years as a service manager for the Ford Motor Company and was always handy at fixing cars. He built the home that he and Dot lived in and loved to work on his home and yard. Ernie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and after his retirement, he served his LDS ward with dedication and efficiency. He was always proud of the fact that he was a gallon blood donor to the Red Cross. He is survived by his wife, Dot; his children, Rob (Joyce) Platt, Shawn (Carr) Harvey; grandchildren, Max, Nathan (Joni), Erin (Dave), Megan, Brady, Alexys, and Ali; two great-grandsons, Carter and Ethan; numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, sister, and three brothers preceded him in death. The family expresses our deepest appreciation to the staff of Brighton Gardens and to Inspiration Hospice for their care and concern. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday March 22, 2006, 11 a.m. at the Rosecrest 2nd Ward, 3101 South 2300 East. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church Wednesday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn.
