SASNETT, Odell Odis, 82, of Thonotosassa, passed away at home, Friday, April 15, 2005, with his family at his side. Odell joined the U.S. Marine Corp in March 1941, serving with the 1st Marine Division until 1947. A World War II veteran, Sgt. Sasnett fought in the battles in the South Pacific. Odell lived in Maryland from 1944 until his retirement from farming and the Government Printing Office in 1966. He then moved to Thonotosassa where he built and operated mobile home parks there. He also co-owned a walnut and rice producing ranch in Modesto, Calif. He was a loving son and loving father. Born in Gainesville, Fla., he is predeceased by his parents, Irving and Ella Whitehead Sasnett; two brothers, Dewey and Alonzo Sasnett; and a grandson, Thomas Aguilar. Odell is survived by five children; Robert Sasnett Sr., Laura and husband, David Furey, all of Thonotosassa; Margaret Littleford of Rockville, Md., Janet Sasnett of Pattison, Texas, and Tina Behensky of Dade City. He is survived by two sisters; Evelyn Reiter of Satsuma, Fla., and Margie and husband, David Robinette of Waterford, Calif.; sister-in-law, Dehlia Tomlinson of Winter Haven, Fla. He leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
